NASA and Lockheed Martin have together unveiled the future aircraft design concept for supersonic flight over land. Dubbed the Supersonic Green Machine, the design has been submitted as part of the Administration's research into advanced aeronautics and the concept visions as to how air travel in future might be.
The concept addresses both the problems while employing an inverted-V engine-under-wing configuration that will further help considerably reduce the resultant sonic boom and increase energy efficiency. On the other, the revolutionary technologies will help achieve range, payload and environmental goals at the same time.
